Supply-Chain Management
This
is a critical piece of our sourcing initiative as well as a major point
of differentiation from our competitors. Our goal is not to be the
cheapest buyer in the marketplace. Our goal is to bring more of a value
to the farmers to encourage longstanding relationships. Our proven
model accomplishes this without additional expense to the consumer, in
fact quite the opposite; over the past 2 years we have been able to
increase farmer profits, while lowering retails at store
level.
Our primary focus is to provide you with competitive pricing, quality
product, brand consistency and uninterrupted supply. Our model, which
was developed over a decade ago in Arkansas has been duplicated and
reproduced in eleven different regions including Mexico, allowing for
greater efficiencies which translate into increased value for our
customers.
Examples of these efficiencies are:
- Reduced corrugate costs
- Reduced Shrink
- Reduced warehousing costs
- Reduced labor associated with the repacking of the product
- Reduced costs associated with Freight
- Increased Shelf Life
Preferred Supplier Network
This
network was created to leverage our sourcing volume working with a
group of quality, reputable and progressive growers to compliment our
own product supply. Suppliers are continually evaluated on overall
performance by not only our expectation levels but those of our
customers as well.
There are 7 key attributes within this network.
- First would be ground equity. We have “Ground Equity” in our regional areas.
- Secondly, our exclusive marketing agreements are all farm-direct and located in each of our regional areas as well as Mexico.
- Consistency
of supply as we do everything possible to pair up specific farms with
specific customers to create ownership and accountability.
- Field inspectors at all major growing regions to ensure quality at source
- Branding capabilities at Source as well as at our warehouse locations
- Food Safety and Security
- Increased profits for the farms, while reducing costs to the consumer
Our
most recent inspection shows we scored the highest possible rating on
food safety. SCS or Scientific Certification Systems is the 3rd party
company we use for our main warehouse. Primus Labs is the company we
use for our growing locations as we feel there program is better
tailored for growers than for repack or forward distribution type
operations.
